R134a Refrigerant – Properties

R134a - refrigerantR134a, chemically 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (CF3CH2F) is a non-flammable gas used primarily as a “high-temperature” refrigerant for domestic refrigeration and automobile air conditioners.  It is safe for normal handling as it is non-toxic, non-flammable and non-corrosive. It is now being used as a replacement for the more environmentally harmful R-12 refrigerant in the area of centrifugal, rotary screw, scroll and reciprocating compressors.
